  • Hundreds of passengers heading to France were stuck deep in the Channel Tunnel today after their train broke down around eight miles from the UK coast.
    Almost 400 people and four dogs were evacuated from the Eurotunnel service after a power failure, which has caused delays of up to six hours between Britain and Europe.
    Passengers spent almost two hours on the train and took photographs as they were ushered along a service tunnel and on to a new service taking them to France, where they are waiting for their cars.
